Books

I really like reading, and I know other people do too. I will start a list of my favorite books.

The Hiding Place, by Corrie ten Boom- This book is a true story about a jew named Corrie who gets taken to a concentration camp. She has to rely on her faith in the Lord in order to get through hard times.

White Fang, by Jack London- This is about a wolf- dog who is taken in by humans and is mistreated (this is a really popular book, alot of people have read it).

The Warriors series and Warriors: The New Prophecy, by Erin Hunter- These books are about four different cat clans living in a forest, and the many adventures that they have. I think that these books are really captivating.

Run Baby Run, by Nicky Cruz- I have already started to read this book, but I dont reccomend it to small children because it has alot of violence. It is about this kid who joins a gang, and becomes the leader of it, then becomes the most wanted street fighter in New York. He eventually gives his life over to Christ, though I havent gotten that far yet. My mom recomended this book to me.

The Redwall Series, by Brian Jaques- These books are about little mice who live in Redwall Abbey. There is alot of adventure and warfare. This can be graphic, too though, so if you dont like violence then dont read it.

Oh, I could go on and on! There is also Fire Bringer, and The Sight, but Scar would know more about those books than I do.

YES!!! Fell is my favorite character. He reminds me of Argeon in ways (although Argeon never turns bad). I want to read it again, because the last time I read it was in 6th grade, and I dont remember much of it. Fire Bringer is by the same author. It is about a buck named Rannok (I think. It has been a very long time since I have read that one, too). Both of these books were so good that I read them in like a few days. Scar beat my records, she read Fire bringer in like two days, and The Sight in like one.

Yeah ... I think I like Larka and Kar better than I like Fell though. I was thinking of making those as Characters in here ... and putting them up for adoption [except for the ones I would like to keep]

BUT, I have to get the book out again ... it's in my school library, and we have 2 copies!

No fair! Our middle school only had one

I still dont really understand how Morgra supposedly put a curse on Larka's family. Ok, I must have forgotten, next time I got to the public library I will check and see if they have a copy in.

OK ... I got the verse from The Sight ....

As a she-cub is whelped with a coat that is white,

And a human child stolen to suckle the sight

From a place where injustice was secretly done

Then the Marked One is here and a legend begun.

When Wolfbane is dreamt of with terror and dread,

And untamed are tamed, prepare for the dead.

For the Shape Changer's pact with the birds will come true,

When the blood of the Varg blends with Man in the dew,

As the Searchers are tempted, who hunger and prowl,

Down the Pathways of Death, by the summoning howl.

Then the third of the powers will be fleshed on the bone

And the Searchers tempt nature to prey on its own.

With blood at the altar, the Vision shall come

When the eye of the moon is as round as the sun.

In the citadel raised by the lords of before,

The stone twins await - both the power and the law.

Then the past and the future shall finally show,

To the wounded, the secret the Lera must know.

And all shall be witness to that which will be,

In the mind of the Varg, then who shall be free?

And only a family both loving and true,

May conquer the evil, so ancient, so new.

As they fight to uncover wht secrets they share

And behold in their journey how painful is care.

Their faith shall be tried by the makers of life,

Beware the Betrayer, whose meaning is strife.

For who shall divine, in the dead of the night,

The lies from the truth, the darkness from light?

Like the cry of the scavenger, torn through the air

A courage is needed, as deep as despair.

That's it, word for word. I've even made sure that the grammer is the same as in the book.

You are very smart, Psy. Yes I have read The Sight and even own my own my own coppy, although Paige still has it, she kept forgetting to bring it back to shool so she could give it back. Oh well, I'll get it again and read it again.

Also, reguarding me reading those books, yes I did read The Sight in 1 1/2 days, and Fire Bringer in 2 1/2, not 1 and 2 days, close enough though.

Oh, we're gonna get technical are we? ... Hey, have any of you guys read all 6 of the Harry Potter series?

I think I read the fifth book in a little under 1 day and a half ... I can't really remamber though, because it was about 3 years ago that I read it the first time, and now every time that I read it, I skip to the good parts.

Wow... I dont think I can brag about anything like that... except I can read a whole Hank the Cowdog book in an hour. They are for sixth graders, though I'll read anything interesting that I can get my hands on, I even read a unicorn series for first graders.

I've read the Harry Potter series. It's awesome, I read the fifth book in about the same time. It was a good book. The whole series is good, my favorite character is Hermionie (sp?).

Same here. I like the scene in the third movie where she's pointing her wand at Malfoy.

I would too, that is going to be one cool fight if they put that in the movie......assuming that they are going to make a fifth movie that is.
